6 Crucial Tips if You Play Progressive Video Poker

Beating Casino presents: 6 Crucial Tips if You Play Progressive Video Poker. Jerry Stich has been involved in casino gambling for nearly 30 years. He is an expert in blackjack, craps, video poker and advantage slot machine play.

In this video, we will show you 6 crucial tips that Jerry has to share if you wish to play progressive video poker. Most video poker games have a fixed pay table, meaning the pays for each winning hand never change. For example, a high pair always pays 1-for-1, a 4-of-a-kind always pays 25-for-1 or some other fixed number, and a royal flush always pays 800-for-1 with 5 credits played.

Progressive video poker games are different. They add money to a jackpot as players play the machine. Usually, the jackpot is for hitting a royal flush, but some progressive games have running jackpots for straight flushes or certain four-of-a-kind hands.

Normally, progressive games have reduced payouts for the full house and flush hands. For example, a jacks or better game that would normally pay 9-for-1 for a full house and 6-for-1 for a flush instead pays only 8-for-1 for a full house (sometimes 7-for-1) and 5-for-1 for a flush when it is a progressive game. But, there are good news as well, as the progressive jackpots climb, the house edge decreases and can eventually become favorable for the player. For a Jacks or Better game, the house edge moves towards the player by about .5 to .6 percent for each additional 1,000 credits in the jackpot. For example, an 8/5 game (8-for-1 paid for a full house and 5-for-1 paid for a flush) has a 97.30 percent payback when the royal flush progressive jackpot is at the reset value of 4,000 credits.

When the jackpot climbs to 5,000 credits, the payback improves to 97.81 percent. Should the jackpot climb to double, the reset value of 4,000 to 8,000 credits, the payback is approximately the same as a full pay 9/6 jacks or better game (99.59 percent). So, when the jackpot of an 8/5 jacks or better progressive game is at 8,000 credits, a player can play the game with the same payback expectation as the increasingly harder to find full pay game.

Tip #1. Find Out When Should You Play.

Returns on progressive video poker games while the progressive jackpot is at or near the reset value of 4,000 credits are significantly lower than the returns of non-progressive games. Because of this, you should only play progressive games when the progressive jackpot is 6,000 credits or higher. Even at 6,000 credits, the return for the game is in the low 98 percent range. This is somewhat mitigated by the fact that you will probably only be playing for a relatively short period of time, until someone hits a royal.

When playing a progressive game, you are playing to get a royal (or another hand that has a very high progressive jackpot). Long-term return is not as significant. What matters more is a very high jackpot amount.

Tip #2. Finding a Playable Game.

The higher the jackpot amount the better the game is for you. The problem is that a high jackpot does not occur very often. If progressive video poker is all you will play, then you will spend up to 95 percent of your time looking for a playable game. If you happen to notice a game where the jackpot is approaching a decent level, you can be sure that other players are also noticing it.

That is why it is important to know that there is a very limited window where you will (or should) actually play the game.

Tip #3. Know Your Bankroll. Assuming you are planning to play only progressive Jacks or Better games when the progressive jackpot is at 6,000 credits or higher, the required amount of your total bankroll increases by about 50 percent.

These requirements are somewhat remediated by the fact that you will most likely not play for a very long time. However, there is no guarantee of that. At minimum, it is recommended having a large enough bankroll to play at least a few thousand hands. It would really suck if you played a couple of thousand hands and ran out of money, then a short while later someone hits the jackpot.

Tip #4. You Will Probably Have to Change Between Strategies.

As the progressive jackpot climbs, your video poker playing strategy needs to change as well in order to start favoring the royal flush more often. This is a fluid requirement as the progressive amount is constantly changing. So, it is recommended that you make up several strategy charts using a video poker strategy program. On each successive chart, increase the jackpot amount by 1,000 credits. When playing the actual game in the casino, use the chart that most closely matches the progressive amount.

If you do not have a video poker strategy program or app (or you do not have access to one) you may be at a disadvantage when it comes to proper playing strategy.

Tip #5. Test Your Skills. Most video poker applications allow the user to play the selected game on the computer or smartphone/tablet. Configure the game with a 6,000 (or whatever number you choose) credit royal flush and begin playing.

The application will let you know when you make errors.

#6. Try the Royals Only Strategy. A Royals Only strategy does have its place in video poker tournaments.

In tournaments, there is an extremely short time to play and a royal flush will probably put you in the money. Also, the player’s bankroll is not affected by each hand that is lost. However, neither of these situations is true when playing progressive games. Even though you save for a royal more often, you still need to make the most of each hand played in order to help make it to the end. Summary Points to Remember.

1. Most of the time, a progressive game is not worth playing.

2. A playable progressive video poker game will probably not last very long.

3. Make sure you have enough money to play several thousand hands.

4. To develop an approximate playing strategy, generate several strategy charts, each with the jackpot 1,000 credits higher.

5. Use the strategy chart that has the jackpot amount closest to the actual amount.

With all this said, you may have second thoughts about playing progressive video poker and we get it. On the other hand, even if you can lose more than on a standard game, you also could win big. What Does It Mean To Color Up In The Game of Craps

You may have heard the term collar up color me up or color, please. So what does that mean in this video we find out? And I tell you why I named my channel color up hi, I’m Jeremy and I love the game of craps. With this new channel, I’m going to cover everything related to the game, I hope, as we cover all aspects of the game, that we can have fun win more and I can help you color up with the game of craps okay. So what does it mean to color up it’s pretty simple? It means you are exchanging smaller denominations for larger ones.

This really applies to all the table. Games in the casino, let’s say you’re playing at a five dollar table. Most of your winnings will be paid back to you in five dollar chips.

Hopefully, at the end of your time playing you will have a large stack of chips. You could carry all the chips to the teller and change them for cash, or you could color them up so with a break in the action, get the dealer’s attention and ask them to colour you up. You simply push your stack of chips to the dealer and say color up, please, the dealer will count out all of your chips and change them for higher denomination chips.

It’S not necessary or required. It’S just a matter of convenience for you, that’s it! That’S how you color up a little side. Note the dealers sometimes color you up during the regular progression of the game, and they are just being helpful, but they may color you up more often just to entice you to play with bigger money. No big deal really just ask them to change it back into smaller denominations always play at the level you are comfortable with.

So why did I named my channel color up with this Channel? I want to help you win more, which means you will color up. More often, I understand this is a fairly simple video, but if you love the game of craps, you should become a subscriber at first I’m going to be covering a lot of topics for the beginner player, but hang in there we will get into more advanced topics Soon, I will be covering how to play all the different bets odds, probabilities, money, management, proper etiquette, tipping taxes, the dark side, dice influence. If you have something you want me to cover. Put it down in the comments, I’d love to hear from you I’ll see you at the tables and good luck on coloring up

The AI Poker Champions

There are all kinds of games that computers are better at than humans these days. Chess. Jeopardy.

Go. An artificial intelligence, or AI, is a computer system designed to solve the problems you’d normally expect to need a human brain to solve. And the latest advance? AIs are getting real good at beating humans at poker. I’m Stefan Chin. And you might recognize me from my riveting performance on the SciShow Quiz Show.

And today I’m here to tell you about how artificial intelligence is taking over the world. In January, an AI called Libratus beat 4 expert human players after playing about 120,000 games of poker. And in a paper published yesterday in the journal Science, a separate research group announced that their AI, called DeepStack, beat 10 out of 11 expert human players after playing about 45,000 games. Both AIs played a version of poker known as Texas Hold ‘em, where each player gets two facedown cards that only they are allowed to look at. There are also five face-up cards that everyone can see, and three rounds of betting.

Most of the games that AIs have conquered so far, like the strategy game Go, are what are known as perfect-information games, meaning that all the players have the same information about the game. For example: in chess or Go, both players can see all the pieces on the board, so they’re making decisions based on the same information. But Texas Hold ‘em is an imperfect-information game.

Since players can’t see each other’s face-down cards, they don’t all have the same information. That makes things much more complicated, because you have to make guesses about the other player’s hand. Like, say your opponent raises the bet.

Is that because they actually have great cards? Or are they bluffing because they think you’re bluffing? And do they think you’re bluffing because in the last round of bets you thought they were bluffing? Those kinds of brain-bendy questions come up in imperfect-information games all the time, and these two new AIs each used different techniques to figure out the most likely answers. They both only played against one opponent per game, which helped because the more players there are, the more ways the game can play out.

But they also both played the no-limit version of Texas Hold ‘em, meaning that the players could bet however much they wanted. And that made things harder, because when you can bet whatever you want, the results of each round affect the way you bet in the later rounds, so the game has way more possible outcomes. Specifically, there were 10^160 possible outcomes for each game. That’s a 1 with 160 zeroes after it. It’s a number so big, that there’s no way even the most powerful computer could actually consider all of those possibilities. For the Libratus AI that won against 4 people in January, researchers first had it play literally trillions of games against itself.

They programmed it to learn from those games so it could work out the best strategies in different situations, based on how the rest of the game would play out. Then, they unleashed Libratus on the four human players in a massive tournament that lasted 20 days. At first, the human players found some weaknesses in the AI’s gameplay, and for the first six days or so, they weren’t losing too badly. But the researchers also designed the AI to learn from its games against the human players. So every night, it would refine its strategies before the next day’s games.

And around the seventh day, the AI started beating the humans by a wider and wider margin. By the end of the tournament, it had won more than $1.2 million. On the other hand, the researchers behind the DeepStack AI, designed it to use neural networks. Neural networks involve layers of processors working together to solve a problem, with each layer using the results of the other layers in its calculations. It’s a strategy that’s modeled after the way brains work, and it’s being used in some of the most advanced AIs in the world.

Like Libratus, DeepStack trained itself by studying random games — although it only looked at about 11 million of them. But Deepstack wasn’t designed to consider how a move would affect the whole rest of the game before deciding on a strategy. Instead, it looked at how different decisions would affect only the next few moves, then used what it had learned about the game to calculate whether those next moves brought it closer to winning. So DeepStack tries to forecast how the next part of the game might go, without trying to predict the whole thing.

And when the researchers had DeepStack play against 11 expert human Texas Hold ‘em players, it outperformed 10 of them across thousands of games. So even though Libratus and Deepstack were designed very differently, both AIs mastered a complicated, imperfect-information game. And now there’s one more thing that computers are better at than humans. But this is a big step toward some broader advancements, too.

There are lots of real-world situations where you have to make decisions even though you’re missing some information, just like in Texas Hold ‘em. And the success of these two AIs means we’re on our way to creating systems that can analyze those kinds of problems better than a human can. For things like deciding on the best treatment for a disease, that’s an awesome plus. And these AIs could also be useful for things like stock trading and diplomacy. One thing’s for sure, though: the future is gonna have some amazing AI poker players.

How to Solve a Sudoku Game

How to Solve a Sudoku Game. Sudoku is a one-rule puzzle game that can be either satisfyingly simple or deceptively difficult. You will need Sudoku puzzle Pencil and eraser.

Step 1. Understand the pattern of a sudoku puzzle. Cells where an individual number goes are called squares; squares are then sectioned off in groups of nine to create boxes.

A sudoku puzzle has a total of 81 squares, and nine boxes. They create a three-box-by-three-box grid. Many sudoku puzzles have dark lines separating the nine three-square-by-three-square boxes for easy identification.

Step 2. To solve a sudoku puzzle, each row of nine squares must contain the numbers 1 through 9. Each column must also contain the numbers 1 through 9, and each box must contain the numbers 1 through 9.

No row, column, or box may repeat any number.

Step 3. Start with an easy puzzle, and work your way up to successively more difficult puzzles. Many squares will already be filled in, no matter the puzzle level. Based on those filled in squares, using logic and the process of elimination, begin deducing which numbers fit in the empty squares. Any puzzle that has one single solution will have at least 17 squares already filled in.

Step 4. Use cross-hatching, the process of figuring out where a number fits by eliminating possibilities based on numbers in the other squares in the same row, column, and box. For example, if the top-middle box contains no number 8, and the other boxes along the top row of the sudoku board contain 8s in the first and second rows, process of elimination dictates the 8 in the upper-middle box must be in the third row.

Step 5. Once you’ve solved one square by cross-hatching, use the technique to fill in as many squares in that single box as you can.

Step 6. Once you have exhausted one box, either by filling it in completely or running out of discoverable solutions, continue to the next box, then the next box, until you’ve gone through all nine boxes.

Step 7. Typically, by doing simple cross-hatching you will fill in several squares. Once you’ve gone through all the boxes, return to the box you started with and repeat the process, as it’s likely there are now more available solutions.

Step 8. After cross-hatching, try the counting method. Look at a single square, and count 1 through 9 through all possibilities, marking off ones that are immediately disqualified because it already appears either in the same box, the same column, or in the same row as the empty square.

Step 9. For most easy puzzles, these simple techniques should be sufficient to help you complete the puzzle. As you practice, you’ll be able to develop your own strategies and think ahead, which will help you progress on to more difficult puzzles. Did you know Sudoku, despite its Japanese name, was invented in the U.S. in 1979 by a 74-year-old retired architect.

The End of CS:GO Gambling

Greetings, I, the WarOwl greets you. I go away for a few days, for my annual Easter vacation and I come back to pure unbridled panic in the Counter-Strike community and I’m loving it. All due to a single patch note. CS:GO items received in trade, cannot be retraded for a period, of seven days. I can remember things by the way. Sure, inconvenience for the avid trader.

But why did Valve make this change now? And, why are so many people calling this *in overly dramatic voice* the death of Counter Strike. *awkward silence* *normal voice* Oh, its still me. We don’t have a voice over section?

Or even a comfortable chair? Alright I’ll wing it. We don’t need to go over line by line in the patch notes it’s the first thing you see when you launch the game. It’s right in the center of your screen, you can’t miss it. Let’s just go over the greatest hits.

Recently we’ve been looking into ways to reduce some negative unintended uses of trading in CS:GO, such as fraud and scams. Now, it’s very interesting that Valve would use fraud and scams as a justification for the trade ban we’re sort of dancing around the real issue here aren’t we? Gambling Oops, did I say the G word? Now, because of the ability to take a steam item and turn it into cold, hard cash a lot of nefarious organizations have popped up to exploit this. Specifically, gambling organizations because it’s unregulated, there’s a very vulnerable user base it’s ripe for the picking.

And a lot of people are arguing that, taking away all that stuff, taking away skin trading, the ability to make money off of it and the gambling organizations, and the betting and stuff would destroy Counter-Strike and would destroy the esports scene. I would argue that Counter-Strike is the game. Counter-Strike is not the monetization strategy that Valve has created around it. If, you take away those elements and Counter-Strike dies, than Counter-Strike didn’t deserve any of that in the first place it’s not a good enough game to stand on it’s own. That’s my argument to it, now there’s a very big difference between an arcade token and a poker chip. With an arcade token, you take your money, you turn it into a token and then you use that token like a Chuck e Cheese token to play games and have fun, you don’t expect anything out of it.

At the best, you’ll get an overpriced plushie or, some tickets to get plastic crap that’ll end up in a land fill. The poker chip on the other hand, you take your money, you turn it into a poker chip, you use it for fun and games, and then you cash out. You turn the poker chip back into money. For Steam’s system to work It needs to be more like the token. It can’t be like the poker chip cause it opens themselves up to all kinds of legal problems.

You, you have unregulated, underage gambling going on, using their system. That could eventually could bite them in the ass. *slot machine noises* So, what’s gambling and why do we have this big subculture of gambling in Counter-Strike in particular. The thrill of gambling doesn’t come from winning or losing money. It actually comes from the anticipation of a payout which stimulates the reward center of the brain. You can see this very clearly in how casinos and… case openings for example, try to stimulate you as much as possible during the anticipation phase.

You have bright, flashing lights and colors and sounds. *Slot machine noises* Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding Why in Counter-Strike is this happening? Well first, you have ability to take a steam item and turn it into money so you can create this system that’s completely unregulated.

It’s sort of in the shadows also, you have this audience that you can reach, these people who play the game. These people who are already sort of in the system cause they already have skins. They already have the skins in their inventory. They don’t have to buy in, they already have it there. And also, you have a huge reach through people like YouTubers, people who advertise these things and many of the YouTubers even own the gambling sites.

That’s happened a few times. Over time. third-parties have developed services that use automated Steam accounts to mimic players and make use of Steam’s trading functionality. Unfortunately, some of these third party services have become a vector for fraud or scams. Unlike players, these services rely on the ability to trade each item very frequently.

In contrast, a give item moves between actual players no more than once a week in the vast majority of cases. I’m not clickbating you by the way, we’re building up to it, *overly dramatic voice* the imminent death of gambling *normal voice* or whatever the heck I’m gonna call this video. Valve once again here is using statistical analysis to aid in their patch notes. So they must’ve looked at the trades that happened and noticed that in the vast majority of cases once an item is traded, it’s not traded again for at least a week. What they’re ignoring here is the small amount of people who participate in the trading community, and who trade in high frequency, this is going to greatly, greatly hurt them and all of that community and there’s legitimate trading going on, it’s a huge subculture it’s something people do for fun, it’s like a hobby, it’s like a side thing.

And yeah, this patch does really hurt that which is *unintelligible stuttering* it’s a bad thing. I admit that right out here, but there’s some benefits that could come from this as well to both the community and especially to Valve which is why I think they’re doing this. I think the seven day ban is so that they can better track skins. So follow me on this one. Little Timmy gets scammed.

Oh, I lost my karambit! Valve, I want my karambit back. Oh the karambit’s gone man, it’s gone through fifty bots, uh some guy bought it for forty bucks, now he’s got it, what, Valve’s gonna go to that guy and say: *in deep voice* hey, this belongs to Timmy, you gotta give it back. *normal voice* He didn’t do anything wrong, that doesn’t seem fair does it?

If there’s a seven day ban Valve has a week to get that item back to Timmy. I, I honestly that’s a really good thing for, uh stopping scamming from happening. Uh, unfortunate side effects but that’s a good thing that could happen.

Also, they explicitly state here the purpose is to kill the bots. So how these gambling sites and skin trading sites and all those things function is they have a lot of bots that automatically trade with players and then those get all shuffled and thrown everywhere and then of course laundered into real money. Of course that’s how people get skins out of the system as well is from these bots.

Now the bots have the items for seven days. The only way that these companies can now function, or I guess not companies but organizations I don’t even know if, they’re probably not incorporated these organizations can function… is if they have a huge inventory, like a back inventory of skins just sitting there, waiting for the trade ban to expire. What is that, that leaves them ripe for the taking man, Valve I’m gonna give you some advice.

Ban the bots. Do it, do it, if you have these inventories sitting there with skins that they can’t trade and then Valve comes in and bans them I mean you’ve just taken out these sites. You’ve, you have pretty much taken full control over your own market Valve. So goodness, also here’s my little justifica- I’m gonna try to give you a justification for this.

If you kill all of those skins, you’ve taken out a lot of supply, this game’s been going on for a long time, there’s a huge supply of skins out there. If you kill the supply, the price is going to go up. Look, I didn’t say that. *over exaggerating clearing his throat* Like can we do cheating next, can we kill cheating next? Thank you folks very much for watching. I am the WarOwl, and I still, have no closer.

Like the cockroach, they are resiliant and agile and will survive they’ll be back.
